WA State Jigsaw Puzzle Competition 2026 event information
The Western Australia State Jigsaw Puzzle Competition 2026 is back on Saturday 30 May 2026 at Belmont Oasis Leisure Centre.
The competition has three divisions:
- Teams (2 hour time limit, 4 people, 1000 pc puzzle)
- Pairs (1.5 hour time limit, 2 people, 500 pc puzzle)
- Solos (2.5 hour time limit, 1 person, 500 pc puzzle)

About this event
Checking in
When you arrive at the event, you’ll get a competition card and lanyard with a QR code to look up your allocated table number. No need to show your ticket at the door!
Aim to be seated at least 15 minutes before the competition start time. If you can no longer attend, please let us know as soon as possible. If the event is sold out, we may be able to resell your ticket on the waitlist.
Accessibility requests
Accessibility requests must be included with your ticketing info at least one week before the event. Please try to include as much detail as possible to help us meet your request. Find out how to update your ticket.
Timetable
- 9.00am: Doors open
- 10am – 12pm: Teams competition
- 12.30pm – 2pm: Pairs competition
- 2.30pm – 5.00pm: Solos competition
- 5pm – 5.30pm: Awards ceremony (all events)

Public transport
There is a bus port at the Belmont Forum and bus stops along Abernethy Rd and Alexander Rd.
Parking
There is free onsite parking although there is a 4 hour limit in some areas. There is some street parking along Progress Way, with a 4 hour time limit. ACROD parking is available onsite. Contact the venue for more information.

The venue is wheelchair accessible.
What’s available on the day
Puzzle swap: Bring your unwanted puzzles for the puzzle swap.
Refreshments: The Belmont Oasis has an onsite café serving coffee and sandwiches and the Belmont Forum Shopping Centre is 15 minutes walk. If you’re competing in multiple events, you might consider bringing a packed lunch to save time.
Prizes: The top three winners in each category will take home a puzzle. The winner of the solo category wins a ticket to the solo final at the Australian National Jigsaw Puzzle Championships. Raffle prizes and spot prizes are also available on the day.
What to bring
You’re welcome to bring any gear such as puzzle sorters, cardboard sheets, energy snacks, headphones – just make sure it doesn’t intrude on other puzzlers. Bring your AJPA membership card for a discount on merchandise, money for refreshments and your unwanted puzzles for the puzzle swap.
Noise
There will be noise during the event so consider bringing noise cancelling headphones or listening to music if you are easily distracted or have sensory issues.

Yes you can! Spectators are very welcome to come along for free and do not need a ticket.
We pride ourselves on creating an inclusive environment and reducing barriers to access and participate in our competitions. Our social script explains what to expect at an AJPA competition.
Check-in opens one hour before each event. You should be checked in and seated at least 15 minutes before the start of each division.
Don’t worry, just pick up a new one at the event. We have plenty for all competitors but encourage you to reuse them to reduce waste at our competitions.
We need your final registration details at least four working days before the event. This gives us time to print the correct time slips and have the right names in our system to help you find your table on the day. Find your tickets (Humanitix email) and click on Manage Order to make any updates.
We do our best to accommodate accessibility requests at our events. Our ability to accommodate requests depends on the size and layout of the room and the number of requests being made.
