AJPA Code of Conduct

The Australian Jigsaw Puzzle Association Inc. (AJPA) code of conduct outlines the ways in which the organisation expects all members and event attendees to act lawfully, honestly, ethically and with integrity at all times, in every aspect of their involvement with the AJPA.

Scope

The Code of Conduct applies to all AJPA members, volunteers, participants and attendees.

The Code of Conduct applies to all AJPA events, including state and national competitions, AJPA committee meetings and other AJPA-related events. It also applies to all verbal and written communication between persons when related to AJPA business. This code of conduct may be updated over time.

Applying the code of conduct

The AJPA is committed to treating everyone with respect, courtesy and sensitivity. We aim to create a positive, inclusive and harmonious atmosphere at our events and to support everyone in attendance to the best of our abilities. We encourage all volunteers and event attendees to show respect, consideration, kindness, tolerance and understanding towards others. When attending AJPA events, all participants are requested to:

  1. behave courteously and respectfully towards, and not compromise the health or safety of AJPA personnel, AJPA members and other participants, venue staff and operators, and members of the public; and
  2. comply with all reasonable directions and follow instructions as given by the AJPA.

If a participant’s behaviour is deemed to be negatively impacting the event and/or the experience of others at the event (for example, making someone feel unsafe), the participant may be asked to leave.

Whether a person’s behaviour is deemed inappropriate or unacceptable is at the discretion of a senior representative of AJPA at the event. This can be the event host, president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer, volunteer coordinator or event coordinator.

All participants must follow the instructions of the AJPA volunteers and AJPA representatives. If a participant chooses not to follow these instructions, they may be asked to leave the event. If a participant is asked to leave an event and refuses, the AJPA may engage the services of the police to assist in removing the participant.

Volunteers should adopt a positive attitude when volunteering at AJPA events and do everything possible to enhance the experience of all participants.
